Hopeful Towns: BID-BUILDER
GRANT SCHEMES
Below are a series of large scale grant programmes, which frequently provide funding opportunities for community stakeholders. These are, in most cases, ongoing or subject to regular rounds of funding.
Exact eligibility varies, but they are usually open to community, voluntary and faith organisations rather than to councils. (It is worth checking the criteria for each one, as a small number are open to partnership working or match funding with public sector bodies). To recap on the specific difference between types of organisation, you can click the 'Glossary of Eligibility' button.
You can also look at opportunities which are specific to Wales and to Welsh Government, using the 'Opportunities in Wales' button.
By keeping an eye on these funds - as well as by working with partners and considering ideas like match-funding - community and voluntary groups can bring more money into the area. Local authorities, meanwhile, can work with partner organisations to do this.
The table below includes the organisations, the typical size of each grant and the types of project that tend to be funded. There is also guidance on accessing funding, and the geographical remit.
